Regardless of whether you have been cheated on, or you were the one who was unfaithful, Esther Perel’s book shines a big bold light on a subject that is still strangely taboo, even though infidelity is as common as marriage and divorce - an extremely normal human behaviour yet we still condemn those who do it. Affairs are damaging and destructive but they are also poorly misunderstood. Perel argues that affairs have a lot to teach us about modern relationships and she makes a really good point - it’s a divisive topic – which means that there’s a lot to be said, and Perel says it so well. An important read for anyone in any relationship.
